Gaithersburg Mayor Katz Endorses Nancy King

Citing Nancy King’s track record of securing real results for her constituents, Gaithersburg Mayor Sidney A. Katz today endorsed her campaign.

"Nancy King is a committed public servant with a record of bringing people together to solve problems and improve the quality of life in our community,” said Mayor Katz. “She fights to make sure Montgomery County gets its fair share in Annapolis, and she delivers real results.”

Nancy King secured $850,000 for community projects since joining the Senate in 2007. This year, she brought home $100,000 for the Cinnamon Woods Environmental and Safety Lighting Upgrade, $100,000 for RCI Group Home Renovations, $30,000 for Montgomery Village Martin Roy Park Pavilion, and $20,000 for the Lake Whetstone Hillside Stabilization. In addition to these organizations, she has also secured funds for the Gaithersburg Upcounty Senior Center, Northgate Homes Lighting Upgrade, and the Plum Gar Neighborhood Recreation Center.

“The most satisfying part of serving in the Senate is working with civic leaders to bring state resources home for local projects to improve everyone’s quality of life,” said Senator King. “I am focused on the neighborhoods of the 39th legislative district, and I will continue to fight to make sure we get our fair share of state funding.”

Senator King has been endorsed by state and local leaders and leading advocacy groups, including Governor Martin O’Malley, Montgomery County Executive Isaiah Leggett, the Montgomery County Education Association, and SEIU Maryland and DC State Council. She represents District 39, which includes all or parts of the communities of Montgomery Village, Hadley Farms, Washington Grove, Flower Hill, Germantown, North Potomac, Darnestown, and Derwood.
