The National Conference of State Legislators, who works with state legislatures in all 50 states, has selected Senator Nancy J. King to serve as an Early Learning Fellow in its inaugural program which started in December, 2011. Senator King is the only participant from Maryland. She has been an advocate for early childhood learning throughout her tenure in the Maryland General Assembly and serves as the Senate Chair for the Joint Committee on Children, Youth, and Families. Senator King will use her expertise to advise legislators from states on how to best utilize early learning programs while learning what successful programs other states use that she can bring home to Maryland.
The Maryland Family Network congratulated Senator King for being selected in their most recent newsletter and wrote about the Early Learning Fellows program here.
