Senator King chosen to be President Elect of Women's Caucus

On April 4, 2012, The Women Legislators of Maryland held their final meeting of the 2012 Legislative Session and elected a new executive board to begin serving after the Senate and House adjourn next week. The members of the Caucus voted to accept the Nominating Committee’s motion to elect Senator Nancy J. King as President Elect for the 2013 Legislative Session. Senator King will take over as Caucus President for the 2014 Session. The Women Legislators also elected seven other Senators and Delegates to the 2013 Executive Board, including:

1st Vice President         -           Delegate Tawanna Gaines (Prince George’s County)
2nd Vice President        -           Delegate Susan McComas (Harford County)
Secretary                      -           Senator Verna Jones-Rodwell (Baltimore City)
Treasurer                      -           Delegate Ana Sol Gutierrez (Montgomery County)
At-Large Ex. Bd.          -           Delegate Barbara Robinson (Baltimore City)
At-Large Ex. Bd.          -           Delegate Aruna Miller (Montgomery County)


The bipartisan Caucus includes all 58 woman Senators and Delegates serving in the Maryland General Assembly and promotes, supports and advocates for issues involving women in Maryland.
